Senior Product Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Product Engineer leads product engineering analyses and deliverables across the new product development cycle for RF and power semiconductor products. The role partners with design, test, and manufacturing teams to optimize yield, validate prototypes, and prepare production releases.

Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote within reasonable commuting distance from the Greensboro, NC office.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include data-driven yield and process improvement, test plan development, and production release activities.

  • Perform detailed analysis of large data sets to identify key parameters, establish product capability, and support design revisions.
  • Implement and maintain statistical process control (SPC) and DOE; apply techniques such as CPK, ANOVA and time-series analysis.
  • Automate data processing and analysis using Python or similar programming languages; develop scripts and tools as needed.
  • Use commercial analytics tools (e.g., JMP, Spotfire) to analyze and visualize fabrication and test data.
  • Develop production RF/DC electrical test plans for wafers and packaged devices and optimize test coverage and test time.
  • Support Test Engineering to debug, validate, and release production test hardware and software (C#, C).
  • Generate Yield Plans and roadmaps to improve manufacturing efficiency and meet yield and cost targets.
  • Communicate analysis results and recommended actions to cross-functional development and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years performing statistical and data analyses in semiconductor product development.
  • Experience applying SPC, DOE, CPK, ANOVA, and time-series analysis to manufacturing and test data.
  • Proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented/procedural languages for data automation.
  • Experience with commercial analytics tools such as JMP or Spotfire.
  • Hands-on experience developing electrical test plans for wafers and packaged devices and working with automatic test equipment.
  • Experience debugging and validating production test hardware/software using C# and C.
  • Ability to generate and execute Yield Plans to improve manufacturing yield and cost.
  • Strong communication skills to present analyses and drive cross-functional actions.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is specified. Alternative: a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree with reduced experience requirements.
