Job Title

Senior Product Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Connectivity organization responsible for end-to-end product engineering from prototype builds through production release and volume support. Acts as the central coordination point for engineering supply, product readiness, quality, yield and cost performance.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of semiconductor product engineering, NPI, manufacturing, test or related experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for preparing products for production and sustaining volume operations. Key day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Initiate and track prototype assembly builds, manage priorities, material availability and schedules.
  • Create and maintain product BOMs and lifecycle data in PLM systems (e.g., Agile).
  • Publish and communicate NPI schedules, risks and status to product teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with planning, manufacturing, subcontractors and operations to resolve material-flow and schedule issues.
  • Manage controlled hand-off from NPI to mass production, including engineering-lot conversion and material readiness.
  • Define ATE test, qualification and manufacturing plans and drive first-silicon bring-up and debug with cross-functional teams.
  • Plan and execute voltage/temperature/process characterization, production limit setting and guard-banding.
  • Own qualification planning and execution per applicable JEDEC and AEC requirements and produce compliance evidence.
  • Monitor production data, perform statistical analysis, and correct yield, quality and test-time issues.
  • Optimize test, yield and BOM to improve product cost and gross margin.

Requirements

Core skills and experience required for successful performance in this role.

  • At least 5 years of relevant semiconductor experience across product engineering, NPI, manufacturing, test or planning.
  • Practical understanding of wafer fabrication, assembly, test, qualification and production-release flows.
  • Experience managing engineering wafer starts, prototype builds, customer samples, inventory and product BOMs.
  • Working knowledge of RF and mixed-signal devices, common circuit blocks and semiconductor test methodology.
  • Familiarity with ATE platforms (examples: Teradyne J750, Advantest V93000) and laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs).
  • Familiarity with JEDEC/AEC qualification standards and semiconductor failure analysis processes.
  • Experience with PLM and yield-management tools (e.g., Agile, PDF Exensio, JMP) and using statistical methods for yield/quality improvement.
  • Experience working with external foundries, OSATs/subcontractors and globally distributed product teams.
  • Strong analytical, planning, coordination, problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Industrial Engineering is required (as listed in the posting).
