Job Title

Senior Product Development Engineer — Test & Product Engineering, Client APU

Role Summary

Hands-on engineering role responsible for product bring-up, silicon characterization, product definition, and production test solution development for Client APU semiconductor products. Partners with Design, DFT, Platform Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality throughout the product lifecycle from pre-silicon planning through high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. No explicit years-of-experience specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include delivering test solutions, driving silicon bring-up, resolving manufacturing issues, and improving yield and test efficiency.

  • Develop and deploy production test solutions: hardware, software, and test content that meet quality, coverage, and cost targets.
  • Drive silicon bring-up, characterization, product definition, margin analysis, and performance optimization from first silicon to production.
  • Investigate and resolve silicon, test, yield, and manufacturing issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, DFT, Platform Validation, Manufacturing, and Hardware Infrastructure to ensure testability and production readiness.
  • Analyze characterization, yield, and manufacturing data to support engineering decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Validate ATE hardware and software, improve yield and test efficiency, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience followed by preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with production test solution development and deployment (hardware, software, test content).
  • Must-have: Experience in silicon debug and characterization and driving bring-up to production.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with DFT methodologies (BIST, loopback, boundary scan, pattern generation flows).
  • Must-have: Experience validating ATE hardware and software and improving test efficiency and yield.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with scripting and engineering tools such as Python, Bash, Git, and modern editors.
  • Must-have: Ability to analyze characterization, yield, test, and manufacturing data to drive improvements.
  • Preferred: Signal integrity work for PCIe and DDR, exposure to probe card, wafer sort, and final test hardware and operations.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor products and familiarity with computer architecture concepts (GPU or x86).
  • Role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (explicitly stated).
