Senior Product Applications Engineer

Role Summary

The Product Applications Engineer evaluates, characterizes, validates, and enables customers for mixed-signal semiconductor products and reference platforms. The role works closely with design, systems, product marketing, and customer teams to develop reference designs, create technical collateral and tools, investigate product issues, and provide system-level application support.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include product evaluation, customer enablement, and cross-functional technical support.

  • Evaluate, characterize, and validate semiconductor products and reference platforms.
  • Develop customer-facing application collateral, software tools, and reference designs.
  • Support customer and field application teams to resolve technical issues and perform system bring-up.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, debug efforts, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with design, systems, product marketing, and documentation teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience for this role.

  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal and embedded systems, data converters, power electronics, or industrial measurement applications.
  • Proficiency in C and Python for tooling, test automation, and firmware work.
  • Hands-on experience in hardware design, development, debugging, validation, and system bring-up.
  • Familiarity with laboratory test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, source-measure units, power analyzers, electronic loads).
  • Experience in product characterization, performance evaluation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of ARM microcontrollers and communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills; proficient in English.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%) as required for customer support and field activities.

Education Requirements

Requires an M.S./M.Tech. or B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. The posting specifies 5+ years of industry experience.
