Job Title

Senior Product & Application Engineer

Role Summary

Deliver product development and validation for Defacto Technologies' semiconductor tools and provide technical support to major semiconductor customers. The role spans the full product lifecycle and direct customer engagements to ensure successful integration and deployment of tools.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 10 years of experience in SoC front-end design (architecture, synthesis, verification, DFT).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include product engineering, customer support, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Lead full-cycle product development and validation activities.
  • Provide technical support to customers from initial contact through day-to-day usage and troubleshooting.
  • Work with major semiconductor customers to ensure successful project delivery and tool adoption.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D teams in Grenoble and North America to drive feature development and bug resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation for customers and internal teams.
  • Participate in tool qualification, testing, demos, and customer site activities; travel approximately 10%.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional abilities.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SoC front-end design: architecture, synthesis, verification, and DFT.
  • Proficient in UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience scripting in Tcl, Perl, and Python.
  • Familiarity with digital design languages: Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
  • Knowledge of front-end tool flows: RTL synthesis, DFT tools, simulation, and formal equivalence tools.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to diagnose complex integration and tool issues.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, including technical and general presentations.
  • Self-reliant, proactive, and able to work collaboratively with distributed R&D teams.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD degree in microelectronics.
