Job Title

Senior Product and Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work on validation, characterization, and production test solutions for new Qualcomm silicon. The role sits in Product Engineering / Hardware Engineering and partners with cross-functional teams to develop test methodologies for advanced packaging and to release cost-effective manufacturing tests.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical experience expectations per degree: Bachelor's + 2+ years hardware engineering or related experience; Master's + 1+ year; or PhD (experience unspecified).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include bringing up new silicon, developing test hardware/software, characterizing device performance, and transferring tests to production.

  • Validate and debug new silicon during bring-up and characterization.
  • Develop ATE hardware and software for device testing and production.
  • Characterize device performance across process, voltage, temperature and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
  • Release and optimize cost-effective production test solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot complex test failures and improve test coverage and throughput.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Hands-on experience with ATE test platforms and SOC test systems (experience with Advantest 93K is a plus).
  • Familiarity with design-for-test (DFT) and structural tests such as Scan/ATPG, JTAG, and memory BIST.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience testing advanced package technologies.
  • Programming and scripting skills: C/C++, Perl; experience with JMP or similar analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of VLSI design, semiconductor device physics, and computer processor systems.
  • Understanding of CMOS, analog and mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs) and related performance measurements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Alternate qualification paths accepted per posting: Bachelor's + 2+ years of relevant experience, Master's + 1+ year, or PhD in a related field.
