Job Title

Senior Product and Test Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for validation, debug, characterization, and test development for new silicon and advanced packaging technologies. Works within Product Engineering to develop ATE hardware/software, production test solutions, and test methodologies that support high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience: 3+ years in silicon bring-up, hardware engineering, or high-volume manufacturing. Minimum qualification alternatives: Bachelor's +2 years, Master's +1 year, or PhD (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Key duties include bringing new silicon to production quality and releasing cost-effective production test solutions.

  • Validate and debug new silicon and system-level issues.
  • Develop ATE hardware and software for characterization and production testing.
  • Characterize device performance across process, voltage, and temperature conditions.
  • Develop and document test methodologies for advanced package technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing teams to qualify devices.
  • Release and hand off validated, cost-effective production test solutions into mass production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing (3+ years preferred).
  • Experience developing ATE HW/SW and releasing production test solutions.
  • Practical use of lab/test instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers).
  • Device characterization across process and operating conditions and root-cause debug skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document test methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Advantest 93K or other SOC ATE platforms, DFT techniques (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST), and testing CPUs.
  • Nice-to-have: programming/scripting experience (C/C++, Perl, JMP) and familiarity with VLSI design, semiconductor device physics, CMOS, analog/mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs).

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in the same fields. A PhD in a related field is also accepted. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience as an alternative to degree requirements (e.g., Bachelor's +2 years, Master's +1 year, or PhD).
