Job Title

Senior Product and Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work on product and test engineering for silicon validation, characterization, and production test within Qualcomm's Hardware Engineering organization. The role focuses on silicon bring-up, ATE hardware/software development, device characterization across process and operating conditions, and deploying cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 3+ years of relevant hardware engineering or silicon bring-up experience (posting lists 3+ years in minimum qualifications).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include silicon validation, test development, and moving solutions into production.

  • Validate and debug new silicon during post-silicon bring-up.
  • Develop ATE hardware and software for device testing.
  • Characterize device performance across process corners and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
  • Release cost-effective production test solutions into high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience followed by preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Experience using common test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers).
  • Must-have: Experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing; several years of hardware engineering experience (posting lists 3+ years).
  • Must-have: Practical experience developing or supporting ATE hardware/software and production test flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest 93K), design-for-test techniques (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST), and CPU testing.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience testing advanced packaging technologies and characterizing mixed-signal blocks (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs).
  • Nice-to-have: Programming/scripting experience (C/C++, Perl, JMP) and familiarity with VLSI design and semiconductor device physics.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
