Job Title

Senior Product and Test Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, and validate production test solutions and test methodologies for new silicon and advanced packaging technologies. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to debug silicon, characterize performance across process and operating conditions, and transition cost-effective test solutions into high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 3+ years of hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, hardware engineering, and high-volume manufacturing. See Education Requirements for alternate degree-based experience options.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Validate and debug new silicon during bring-up.
  • Develop ATE hardware and software for production and characterization.
  • Characterize device performance across process, temperature, and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
  • Release cost-effective production test solutions into mass production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with common test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers).
  • Must-have: Experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing; practical hardware engineering experience (3+ years typical).
  • Preferred: Experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest 93K SOC test systems) and ATE HW/SW development.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DFT techniques and structural tests (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST) and CPU testing.
  • Preferred: Experience testing advanced package technologies and releasing tests into production.
  • Preferred: Software skills: C/C++, Perl, JMP.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of VLSI design, semiconductor device physics, processor systems, CMOS, analog and mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs) and their measurements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field; PhD acceptable. The posting also allows alternate experience paths: Bachelor's + 2+ years hardware engineering experience, Master’s + 1+ year, or PhD. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
