Senior Processor Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, validation, and customer enablement for processor-based solutions.

  • Design and develop hardware and software reference designs for ADI processors and emerging interfaces.
  • Perform system-level validation and compliance testing for interfaces such as DDR, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Customize reference designs to meet customer-specific integration and production requirements.
  • Collaborate with Tier-1 and OEM customers to resolve technical issues and accelerate production ramp.
  • Create technical articles, demo platforms, and deliver trainings for customers and internal teams.
  • Serve as liaison between customers and ADI product teams, providing feedback for next-generation products.
  • Define system-level requirements for target markets and coordinate with cross-functional teams on product execution.
  • Travel domestically or internationally as needed (approximately 10%–15%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • 6–8 years of experience in embedded systems, hardware/software development, or product applications engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals with microprocessors/microcontrollers and system-level software topics (stack, heap, memory optimization, multi-core communication).
  • Proficiency in C programming (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with electronics and serial protocols such as I2C, I2S, SPI, UART.
  • Experience debugging complex customer issues and supporting production transitions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel ~10%–15%.

Nice-to-have / strong plus:

  • Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex microcontrollers and related toolchains.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing DSP signal-processing algorithms on processors.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical projects.
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products.
  • Experience with Python and/or assembly programming.

Education Requirements
