Senior Principal Technical Quality Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Principal Technical Quality Engineer will act as the quality champion for one or more Silicon Solutions Group (SSG) design organizations. You will analyze design defects, define and maintain QA and release QC processes, and improve process efficiency by implementing agentic AI systems.

You will collaborate with IP design teams, methodology and CAD teams, and engineering management, produce and interpret quality metrics, and support quality certification and foundry IP quality programs.

Senior β€” 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include leading quality activities across global design teams, driving continuous improvement, and reporting quality status to senior management.

  • Serve on the global SSG Quality Team and represent it to customers and partners.
  • Work across the global organization to implement improvements to flows and procedures.
  • Define, document, and maintain quality procedures for multiple design teams.
  • Improve effectiveness and efficiency of quality procedures through implementation of agentic AI systems.
  • Generate, interpret, and communicate quality metrics to engineering leadership.
  • Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and identify corrective actions.
  • Hold post-mortem reviews, summarize findings, and track follow-up actions.
  • Assist design teams in preparation of Failure Analysis reports.
  • Maintain and support quality certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO 26262.
  • Support participation in external semiconductor foundry quality programs.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of: analog or digital IC design, verification, or silicon fabrication quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to analyze defects and lead corrective actions; experience with RCA tools/methods is expected.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proactivity, and teamwork orientation.
  • Experience defining and maintaining QA/QC processes and producing meaningful quality metrics.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI or automation tools to improve process efficiency is preferred.
  • Nice-to-have: specific experience in analog IC design and defect management processes such as 5 Whys or 8D.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) β€” as stated in the posting.
