Senior Principal SoC Security Architect
Role Summary
Lead definition, governance and adoption of a Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) for Arm-based SoCs across architecture, RTL, physical implementation, firmware, software and production. Provide technical leadership, set direction, define roles and accountability, and drive measurable SDL adoption across programs and teams.
Relocation support, including visa sponsorship, is available for candidates who require it.

Responsibilities
Accountable for establishing practical, scalable security processes and ensuring they are followed across the SoC lifecycle.
- Define and maintain the SDL framework for SoC development covering hardware, firmware, software, verification and production.
- Establish security processes, checkpoints, and sign-off criteria aligned with industry practice.
- Develop practical, repeatable SDL processes that scale across multiple programs and teams.
- Drive adoption and alignment across architecture, RTL, verification, physical implementation, firmware, software and product teams.
- Define roles, responsibilities and accountability for security across teams and act as the central SDL authority for SoCs.
- Provide frameworks and mentorship for threat modeling, risk assessment, and security design reviews.
- Develop and mature security verification and validation approaches for SoCs.
- Define metrics to track SDL adoption, coverage and effectiveness, and iterate SDL based on feedback and evolving risks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Prior experience as an SoC security architect or in a closely related security architecture role.
- Strong understanding of the full SoC lifecycle: architecture, RTL, physical implementation, firmware, software and production.
- Experience defining or influencing security processes, frameworks or methodologies at an organizational level.
- Proven ability to lead, influence and build consensus across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment applied to hardware/software systems.
- Familiarity with hardware and system security concepts such as secure boot, root of trust and key management.
- Understanding of secure provisioning, manufacturing and device lifecycle management.
- Exposure to hardware security verification or validation methodologies.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience building and scaling SDL in a semiconductor or SoC environment.
- Familiarity with Arm architecture and its security features.
- Deeper knowledge of cryptography and hardware security primitives.
