Job Title

Senior / Principal NAND Device Engineer

Role Summary

As part of the Device Technology Development team at Fab 10N/X, Singapore, you will shape next-generation 3D NAND by bridging device physics, array operation, and product requirements. The role focuses on translating device-level behavior into cell design, process changes, and array-level strategies that improve performance, yield, and reliability.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Senior / Principal). Years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include device analysis, array co-optimization, and cross-functional execution:

  • Analyze electrical characterization data from cell arrays and test structures to identify limitations and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop deep understanding of NAND cell physics, variability, and reliability mechanisms across nodes and architectures.
  • Translate device insights into actionable directions for cell design, process optimization, and array operation.
  • Drive device–array co-optimization including Vt placement, distribution control, and sensing margin strategies.
  • Design and refine algorithms, trims, and waveform strategies to improve performance, yield, and reliability.
  • Resolve system-level issues such as interference, retention, endurance, and read/write margin trade-offs.
  • Collaborate with process integration, cell design, product engineering, and test teams across global sites during debug, yield ramp, and technology bring-up.
  • Use statistics, modeling, and large-scale data analysis to inform decisions and prototype novel device or algorithmic solutions.
  • Develop or integrate automation and AI/ML tools to accelerate analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional behaviors:

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals and NAND behavior.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret electrical data and trends.
  • Effective communication and experience working in collaborative, multi-site engineering teams.
  • Proven ownership and ability to drive problems end-to-end across device, process, and product.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, evolving technology spaces and delivering impact.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with non-volatile memory, preferably NAND, and memory array operation or sensing schemes.
  • Exposure to data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, JMP) and statistics.
  • Experience building automated analysis pipelines or engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, AI, or advanced data analytics applied to device engineering.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
