Senior Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead mixed-signal design and architecture for high-speed data converters in the Advanced Cores Group, driving projects from concept through production. Work across multiple sites and teams to define specifications, guide implementation, and mentor engineers.
Hybrid role combining remote and in-office collaboration; focused on multi-GHz sampling-rate and high-bandwidth converter solutions.
Experience Level
Senior β requires extensive industry experience; posting specifies 20+ years of CMOS design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect data converter solutions targeting multi-GHz sample rates and wide bandwidths.
- Develop and implement calibration algorithms for digitally-assisted analog circuits.
- Design transistor-level circuits and challenging analog blocks.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers across multiple sites and teams.
- Prepare design documentation and lead design reviews.
- Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through bring-up to production.
- Mentor and develop other design engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 20+ years' experience in CMOS design.
- Proven track record in high-speed data converter design (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
- Intimate understanding of time-interleaved data converters.
- Experience designing wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
- Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in large, distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Signal processing knowledge relevant to calibration algorithms.
- Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering required.
