Senior Principal Hardware Project Manager – SoC/MCU
Role Summary
Manage end-to-end hardware development programs for SoC/MCU products, from concept through mass production. Lead cross-functional teams (design, verification, software, manufacturing) to deliver schedules, budgets, KPIs and quality targets.
This role focuses on planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and process improvements for complex semiconductor hardware projects.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include program leadership, planning, and stakeholder management for SoC/MCU hardware projects.
- Plan and manage complex hardware projects across multiple departments and development phases (concept to production).
- Collaborate with design, verification, software and manufacturing teams to define scope, goals and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets; track progress versus milestones.
- Monitor and manage project KPIs and timelines; drive productivity and development efficiency improvements.
- Identify, assess and mitigate technical and schedule risks early in the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely, clear communication to stakeholders, senior management and customers about status and issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and share best practices across teams.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience required for the role.
- 12+ years of experience in hardware project management with a focus on SoC/MCU development.
- Proven track record managing large-scale, complex hardware projects to delivery.
- Strong technical understanding of MCU/SoC architecture, design and verification processes.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Fluent communication in both Japanese and English (specified requirement).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field. PMP or a similar project management certification is listed as a plus.
