Senior Principal Foundry Engineer - Product Engineering
Role Summary
Member of the External Wafer Manufacturing team responsible for driving yield enhancement for lead products during new technology introductions (NTI), foundry process transfers, and new fab enablement. The role coordinates yield monitoring, analysis, and improvement activities across NXP product and technology teams and external foundries.
Experience Level
Senior-level role. Requires a minimum of 10 years of semiconductor experience in yield enhancement or a related area.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing yield monitoring capability, defining yield strategies, and working with foundries and internal teams to improve yield.
- Develop yield monitoring methodologies and infrastructure for automated tracking and analysis.
- Define and implement yield enhancement strategies for products tied to NTI and process transfers.
- Assess corporate yield needs and prioritize focus across products and technology nodes.
- Drive foundry actions to achieve targeted yield improvements; understand process, device, design, and test limitations.
- Standardize and propagate Best Known Methods for yield enhancement across technology platforms.
- Collaborate with global NXP technology and product teams and semiconductor foundries in Asia to meet yield goals.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 10 years of semiconductor experience in yield enhancement or similar area.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Strong knowledge of yield enhancement techniques and statistical/data analysis.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques.
- Good understanding of SoC architecture and product test patterns.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience setting up yield management systems; familiarity with coding languages and database structures.
- Experience across multiple technology nodes and foundry ecosystems in Asia.
Education Requirements
Minimum M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
