Senior Principal Foundry Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the APAC Central Competence Team responsible for driving local lead-product ramp-ups during new technology introduction (NTI), process transfers, and new fab enablement. Works with foundries, NXP technology groups, business lines and other stakeholders to qualify and release processes and improve manufacturability and yield.

Experience Level

Senior - requires more than 10 years of front-end IC process integration experience and demonstrated leadership in production ramps or transfer projects.

Responsibilities

Lead technical and program activities to enable product ramp-up and process qualification with external foundries.

• Drive local ramp-up of lead products during NTI, foundry process transfers, and new fab enablement.
• Act as front-end process safe-launch owner; collaborate with foundries to drive manufacturability and yield improvement.
• Interface with key customers on critical projects and represent NXP in technical discussions.
• Lead and steer cross-functional projects to meet schedules and business requirements.
• Make decisions on process integration, resource planning, schedules, logistics, and supplier relationships.
• Manage NTI process transfers within foundries and with NXP joint ventures.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, language ability, and leadership attributes.

• More than 10 years' experience in front-end IC process integration, preferably in foundry production or development teams.
• In-depth knowledge of IC devices and processes; strong understanding of yield enhancement techniques and data analysis.
• Proven hands-on leadership experience in development/transfer projects or production ramp-up.
• Experience managing and collaborating with external foundries to maximize leverage and outcomes.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to drive technical decisions and project momentum.
• Proactive, pragmatic, creative, and results-driven work approach.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with FinFET and non-volatile memory (NVM) technologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSc/MSc) in Physics or Electrical Engineering.
