Job Title

Senior Principal Engineer - IP Verification

Role Summary

Individual Contributor engineer responsible for leading and delivering first-pass success for complex digital IP and subsystem verification programs. Works across System Architecture, Design, DFT, Mixed-Signal and Validation teams to solve verification challenges using simulation, formal methods, hardware modeling and pre/post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Preferred 15–20 years of hands-on IP or subsystem verification experience for large, multi-million gate designs.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification strategy, execution and quality for complex IP and subsystems.

  • Lead end-to-end verification planning and execution to achieve first-pass silicon success.
  • Define and deploy advanced, scalable verification methodologies and automation.
  • Establish and own verification quality metrics across planning, execution and closure.
  • Drive defect prevention, coverage closure and a "zero defect" mindset.
  • Analyze and improve verification flows for efficiency and predictability.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams (Design, DFT, Architecture, Validation).
  • Support pre-silicon and post-silicon validation activities as required.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers; influence team technical direction.

Requirements

Required technical skills, hands-on experience, and professional behaviors.

  • 15–20 years of hands-on IP or subsystem verification experience for complex, multi-million gate designs.
  • Strong expertise in HVLs: SystemVerilog and UVM; proficiency in C/C++.
  • Proficient with HDLs (Verilog / VHDL) and industry simulators (VCS, NCSim, ModelSim, Questa).
  • Experience in testbench architecture, development, debugging, regression management and verification closure.
  • Skilled in test planning, feature traceability, functional and performance validation.
  • Knowledge of assertions (SVA), functional coverage and regression infrastructures.
  • Understanding of microcontroller/ARM architectures and interconnect protocols (AHB, AXI, AMBA).
  • Experience with memory subsystems (SRAM, Flash, DDR) and memory controllers.
  • Demonstrated ownership, collaboration across global teams, strong communication, and mentoring ability.

Nice-to-have

  • Exposure to formal verification methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with gate-level simulation, emulation and pre-silicon validation environments.
  • Domain knowledge in automotive, graphics/vision accelerators, high-speed serial interfaces or networking (Ethernet).
  • Experience with verification planning tools and large-scale automation efforts.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
