Job Title

Senior/Principal Engineer, FE OCT CPEE Photo EUV Track, Material & Cost Excellence

Role Summary

Provide technical leadership for photolithography track equipment and processes across Micron's global manufacturing network. Drive equipment performance, process standardization, material optimization, and operational readiness for high-volume semiconductor production.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Role expects extensive industry experience; the posting specifies 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience focused on photolithography track equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy, standardization, and continuous improvement for photo track equipment, materials, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Act as global technical authority for Photo Track equipment and processes; advise sites and teams worldwide.
  • Define and maintain global standards, Best Known Methods (BKMs), and material usage benchmarks.
  • Lead tool installation, qualification, commissioning, and ramp activities for new fabs and production lines.
  • Improve equipment performance and yield by reducing defects, increasing consistency, and supporting troubleshooting.
  • Optimize EUV materials (photoresists, chemicals) to improve performance and reduce cost and waste.
  • Partner with Procurement and suppliers to reduce total cost of ownership and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Standardize hardware configurations, process recipes, maintenance strategies, and performance metrics across sites.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to solve complex technical problems and scale improvements.
  • Lead data-driven problem solving using statistical analysis, DOE methodologies, and defect-reduction techniques.
  • Promote safe handling of chemicals and materials and maintain a strong safety culture.

Requirements

Required experience and skills. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience with significant focus on photolithography track equipment and processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Photo Track equipment installation, qualification, optimization, and support for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading greenfield fab startups: tool installation, process qualification, production ramp, and operational readiness.
  • Several years operating in a high-volume wafer fab with ownership of sustained manufacturing performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: DOE, statistical methods, and defect-reduction techniques.
  • Excellent communication, partner management, and technical leadership abilities with influence across teams and senior leadership.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Photo Track equipment and record of supporting production-scale operations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Direct experience with TEL, SCREEN, or equivalent advanced Photo Track platforms.
  • Experience supporting EUV lithography production environments and advanced process nodes.
  • Proven success in global engineering initiatives, standards development, and cross-site manufacturing improvements.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving and quality systems (e.g., 8D).
  • Familiarity or interest in integrating Agentic AI workflows into engineering processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field is listed as a baseline, or equivalent industry experience. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field. The posting explicitly states that advanced academic credentials alone will not substitute for the required industry and operational experience.
