Job Title
Senior Principal - CAD
Role Summary
Member of the Solutions Engineering CAD team responsible for developing floor-planning, power delivery network (PDN) methodologies, and technology-node-aware implementation solutions for high-performance and low-power SoC and multi-die designs.
Work closely with architecture, RTL/IP, physical design, package/board teams, foundries and EDA partners to deliver scalable methodologies, automation and robust implementation strategies for advanced nodes and heterogeneous integration.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Title indicates principal/senior responsibilities; specific years of experience not stated.
Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role focused on delivering tool flows, methodology and automation for advanced-node SoC and multi-die implementation.
- Develop advanced SoC floor-planning methodologies for complex hierarchical and multi-die designs.
- Define and optimize PDN implementation, including IR/EM-aware planning and power integrity optimization.
- Build scalable automation for top-level floor-planning, power mesh and clocking, hierarchical subsystems, IO/IP integration, and congestion analysis.
- Drive technology-node-aware implementation flows for ultra-low-voltage and advanced-process designs.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL/IP, physical design, package/board teams, foundries and EDA partners to enable robust implementation strategies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated hands-on experience relevant to methodology, automation, and implementation.
- Expertise in SoC design flow automation: hierarchical floor-planning, PDN design, and advanced physical implementation methodologies.
- Strong programming and scripting (Python, C); experience with EDA tools, version control (Git), and distributed processing/debug environments.
- Hands-on experience with low-power methodologies, UPF-based design, chip finishing, and physical verification flows in advanced process technologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across distributed engineering teams and external partners.
Nice-to-have:
- Deep understanding of advanced clocking structures, power delivery optimization, and physical verification convergence techniques.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design automation and methodology optimization flows.
