Job Title

Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior analog power IC design role within Qorvo's Power Management division. Lead architecture, transistor-level design, simulation, and validation of high-performance power management integrated circuits. Collaborate with system, layout, test, and global engineering teams to deliver production-ready silicon.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting requests 15+ years of engineering experience and at least 8+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC design focused on power converter architectures.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end analog power IC design and cross-functional alignment.

  • Lead design and development of high-performance analog power management ICs focusing on efficiency, power density, and reliability.
  • Define product architecture and specifications with system engineers to meet performance, power, and cost targets.
  • Select and implement circuit topologies and control methodologies (voltage/current mode) for DC-DC converters.
  • Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and validation to meet functional and performance specs.
  • Work with layout engineers to optimize floorplanning, parasitics, and silicon performance.
  • Coordinate with global design teams and support production release, test definition, and characterization.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present design decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 15+ years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC design with experience in DC-DC power converter architectures and control methods.
  • Proven experience with production release of power management ICs.
  • Experience using EDA/analysis tools for parasitic extraction, EM/IR analysis, capacitive coupling, floating-node checks, and related flows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate across global teams and drive technical reviews.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Simplis, and ADS.
  • Hands-on lab experience supporting high-frequency switching power supplies.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering. The posting explicitly allows equivalent education and experience in lieu of formal degrees.
