Job Title

Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead architecture, circuit design, and validation of high-performance analog power-management integrated circuits within Qorvo's Power Management division. Collaborate with system, layout, test, and manufacturing teams to deliver efficient, reliable power IC products for mobile, IoT, automotive, and industrial applications.

Experience Level

Senior-level / Professional. The posting requests 15+ years of engineering experience, with at least 8 years in analog and mixed-signal IC design.

Responsibilities

Lead technical activities across design, validation, and production release of analog power-management ICs.

  • Define product architecture and specifications with system engineers, balancing performance, power, and cost.
  • Select and implement circuit topologies to meet efficiency, power density, yield, and manufacturability targets.
  • Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and validation to meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize floorplan, parasitics, and overall silicon performance.
  • Partner with test and characterization teams to define validation methods and production test strategies; troubleshoot issues.
  • Drive technical reviews and maintain documentation of design decisions, analysis, and trade-offs.
  • Coordinate with global design teams to align development strategies and schedules.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role:

  • 15+ years of semiconductor engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 8+ years in analog and mixed-signal IC design, with experience in DC–DC power converter architectures and control methods (voltage-mode and current-mode control).
  • Experience with production release of power management ICs.
  • Proficiency with EDA flows for parasitic extraction, EMIR and capacitive-coupling analysis, and related tools.
  • Effective communication of complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hands-on lab experience supporting switching power supplies and high-frequency power stages.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Simplis, and ADS.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
