Principal System Architect – Mobile Wallet
Role Summary
Define technical vision, architecture, and delivery of NFC-based mobile wallet solutions for contactless payments, transit, access control and related services. Serve as the technical authority across the NFC ecosystem and lead global cross-functional hardware, software and RF teams to translate customer and market requirements into secure, scalable, interoperable solutions.

Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include architecture, customer engagement, standards compliance, and team leadership:
- Support customer design‑in of NFC chips and systems across hardware, RF, firmware, middleware, and applications.
- Drive development of solutions for contactless payments, public transport, access control, and digital credential services.
- Define customer-specific architectures based on existing NFC chipsets and provide requirements for future products.
- Ensure compliance with NFC Forum, EMVCo, GlobalPlatform, and relevant ISO/IEC standards.
- Drive technical engagements with strategic customers and ecosystem partners.
- Lead and ramp up interdisciplinary HW/SW/RF teams.
- Ensure solution quality, security, interoperability, and technical readiness for deployment.
Requirements
Must-have technical expertise and professional skills:
- Deep knowledge of NFC and contactless ecosystems (payments, transit, access control, digital credentials).
- Strong background in hardware and software architectures; experience with mobile phone and wearable architectures.
- Solid understanding of NFC RF principles and 13.56 MHz communication systems.
- Experience with Secure Elements and secure transaction architectures.
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 14443 A/B, ISO/IEC 18092, ISO/IEC 15693, NFC Forum, EMVCo, and GlobalPlatform.
- Experience supporting customer design‑in and deployment of NFC solutions.
- Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; structured working style, documentation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluent English, written and verbal.
- Security-conscious approach; may be responsible for security-related tasks and certification processes.
