Job Title

Senior Power and Performance Engineer

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for power and performance (PnP) execution for Intel products. Work focuses on measurement, analysis, projection, and debugging of unlaunched Intel and competitor products to support product launches and marketing/engineering communication.

This role requires regular on-site presence in Santa Clara and direct collaboration with engineering, architecture, field account, and marketing teams.

Experience Level

Senior level. Minimum ~2 years of relevant experience required; preferred range 3–8 years as indicated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include measurement, analysis, and cross-team coordination to validate and communicate power and performance behavior.

  • Measure, analyze, and debug workloads to identify power and performance gaps on Linux and Android/Chromebook platforms.
  • Measure and analyze SoC/CPU and platform power on a rail-by-rail basis and debug issues.
  • Bring up full test platforms including setup, calibration, and automated measurements.
  • Align with internal engineering and architecture teams on projections/estimates and measurement methodology.
  • Produce power and performance estimates for upcoming products to guide marketing and internal KPI targets.
  • Guide and influence internal teams, OEM customers, and marketing on product positioning and technical findings.

  • Must have: Minimum ~2 years of relevant post-silicon, platform, or performance engineering experience.
  • Must have (one of): prior post-silicon engineering experience OR prior experience in a Linux, Android, or Chromebook test environment.
  • Experience measuring and analyzing power and performance across CPU/SoC and platform components.
  • Familiarity with industry benchmarks and ability to analyze benchmark results (e.g., SPEC, Geekbench, MLPerf, etc.).
  • Experience with Linux or Android debug tools and data analysis for accuracy and trends.
  • Hands-on experience with board bring-up, ITP/JTAG scripting, and power measurement equipment/DAQ.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to develop technical content for technical audiences.
  • Nice to have: prior experience with Intel or other CPU products in a post-silicon environment; deep CPU micro-architecture knowledge (x86 or ARM).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS/MS) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting specifies BS/MS with at least 2 years of experience (minimum) and indicates a preferred experience range of 3–8 years.
