Role Summary
The Senior Post-Silicon DDR Characterization Engineer validates and characterizes DDR/LPDDR memory subsystems on Arm SoCs across process, voltage, temperature, and frequency. The role sits on the Chandler characterization team and works with cross-functional engineering groups to analyze results, debug issues, and improve silicon performance.

Responsibilities
Work focuses on system-level characterization and validation of memory subsystems on silicon.
- Develop and enable system-level stress workloads on Linux and bare-metal environments.
- Collaborate with post-silicon validation teams to leverage test content for system-level characterization.
- Debug and resolve system and silicon issues using test data and lab equipment.
- Design test plans and implement tests to characterize silicon across PVT and frequency conditions.
- Analyze results and communicate technical findings to engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Experience in pre- or post-silicon validation and characterization, with understanding of silicon power, performance, and PVT behavior.
- Practical experience with DDR/LPDDR architectures: training, calibration, timing, and PHY operation.
- Software skills: C/C++, Arm assembly, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with voltage/frequency margining and defining silicon operating limits.
- Experience debugging silicon and system issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, or similar tools.
- Ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and communicate technical findings clearly.
Nice-to-have:
- DDR/LPDDR PHY characterization and memory-controller interaction experience (LPDDR4/4X, LPDDR5/5X, DDR4, DDR5).
- Experience developing Python automation for characterization and data analysis.
- Experience with low-level C, firmware, hardware control, or silicon debug.
- Prior work with Arm-based SoCs, CPUs, or memory subsystems and system-level test correlation to manufacturing.
