Job Title
Senior PMIC Product Test Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior PMIC Product Test Engineer will plan, verify, and test power management integrated circuit (PMIC) systems, lead product bring-up and yield improvement activities, and develop manufacturing test solutions. The role works within Hardware Engineering and collaborates with design, validation, software, and manufacturing teams to meet performance and quality targets.
Experience Level
Senior. Qualcomm expects candidates with practical hardware engineering experience; preferred experience is 3+ years. Minimum experience guidance in the posting: typically 2+ years with a Bachelor’s, 1+ year with a Master’s, or PhD holders.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading test and bring-up activities for PMIC products and improving manufacturing test processes.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, including PMICs and related digital/analog/RF components.
- Integrate features into hardware designs and execute design implementations with attention to power, performance, and area.
- Perform simulations and analyses, and implement test solutions for production programs to improve yield, test time, and quality.
- Evaluate, characterize, and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions for leading-edge products.
- Use hardware design and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools) to validate and characterize designs.
- Assess reliability of materials and techniques; introduce automation and optimization to maximize productivity.
- Collaborate across design, verification, validation, software and systems engineering teams to implement requirements.
- Write detailed technical documentation for hardware projects and test procedures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Practical Hardware Engineering experience (preferred 3+ years; minimum expectations described above).
- Experience with circuit design (digital, analog, RF) and schematic capture/circuit simulation tools (multi-year experience preferred).
- Hands-on experience with hardware measurement and test instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF test tools).
- Experience developing manufacturing test solutions, product bring-up, and yield improvement.
- Ability to conduct simulations, analyses, and evaluate complex design features for compatibility and compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: experience automating test flows, familiarity with FPGA/ATE systems, and prior PMIC product test experience.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years hardware engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in those fields plus 1+ year; OR PhD in those fields. Fields listed include Computer Science and Electrical/Electronics Engineering; the posting allows related engineering fields.
