Job Title
Senior Platform AI Engineer
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group (SCG) to define and lead the efficiency platform that supports intelligent automation across silicon architecture, build, methodology, validation, and applied AI teams. The role combines platform architecture, systems engineering, and production operations to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure for silicon development workflows.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience and 5+ years of ML infrastructure or model-serving experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for the end-to-end architecture, delivery, and operation of a shared AI-powered infrastructure platform used across SCG.
- Define architectural direction, infrastructure investments, and roadmap priorities across SCG.
- Design platform contracts and onboard agents and skills from domain teams.
- Own delivery from design through sustained production operation, including security, reliability, and performance.
- Lead unified solutions for orchestration, authentication/authorization, observability, and SLA enforcement.
- Manage storage and caching strategies across heterogeneous compute environments.
- Resolve cross-team architectural challenges and mentor senior engineers.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience. See Education Requirements for degree information.
- 8+ years designing and operating production-grade platform or backend infrastructure.
- 5+ years of ML infrastructure experience, including end-to-end ownership of model serving or latency-sensitive backend services.
- Strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one compiled language (C, C++, Go, Java, or Rust).
- Hands-on experience with job queues and sandboxed execution (e.g., Kubernetes Jobs, Celery/Sidekiq/Temporal) and container runtimes with resource isolation.
- Experience making platform-wide decisions that affect security, reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to align senior stakeholders and drive architectural decisions across organizations.
- Nice-to-have: industry recognition (publications, talks, open-source), experience driving company-scale platform architecture, exposure to silicon design/EDA toolchains, and experience operating AI platforms in silicon or EDA environments.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
