Role Summary
Join the Physical Design AI team in Bengaluru to combine physical-design expertise with modern AI to build agentic, token-efficient solutions that improve productivity, quality, and automation across NVIDIA product lines.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include collaborating with implementation teams, delivering AI solutions, and validating their quality.
- Partner with Physical Design Implementation teams to translate complex RTL-to-GDSII challenges into AI-driven solutions.
- Design and deliver efficient, token-optimized AI agents and pipelines that produce high-quality outputs.
- Provide continuous support, maintenance, and enhancements for deployed AI solutions.
- Benchmark solutions across multiple AI models and iterate to improve effectiveness.
- Research and prototype new AI methods to address evolving physical-design challenges.
- Build robust regression testbenches to validate quality, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.
- Strong understanding of the RTL-to-GDSII flow: synthesis, place-and-route, clock tree synthesis, timing convergence, and layout closure.
- Familiarity with AI concepts relevant to agentic systems: tokens, KV cache, context windows, agents/subagents, and hooks.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude, Codex, and Cursor.
- Experience with standard place-and-route flows and automation scripting (Tcl, Python, tool-specific scripting).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ability to work across global teams.
- Preferred: Experience with Synopsys ICC2 and Cadence Innovus flows.
Education Requirements
BE / BTech / MTech degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience (posting specifies "or equivalent experience").
