Senior PCVD Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
As a Senior PVD/CVD (PCVD) Equipment Engineer you will own installation, qualification, maintenance, optimization, and development of PVD/CVD equipment for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. You will work with process, equipment, and vendor teams to resolve equipment issues, improve yield, and implement preventive and corrective strategies.
This role supports Micron's manufacturing expansion and requires hands-on engineering and cross-functional collaboration onsite in Boise, ID.
Experience Level
Senior. Requires industry experience operating as an Equipment Owner for PCVD equipment; hands-on semiconductor fab maintenance experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on equipment installation, performance, and cross-functional problem resolution.
- Install and qualify industry-standard PVD/CVD equipment in a new cleanroom.
- Monitor equipment performance: analyze data, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, and document results.
- Collaborate with process engineers to identify and resolve equipment-related production issues affecting yield.
- Execute projects to close hardware gaps and implement equipment upgrades using project-management methodology.
- Manage vendor relations to maintain supplier engagement and drive benchmark equipment performance.
- Develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 2+ years industry experience as an Equipment Owner with PCVD (PVD and/or CVD) equipment.
- Hands-on experience with preventative and corrective maintenance in a semiconductor fabrication environment.
- Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze equipment performance data.
- Ability to work onsite in Boise, ID and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.

- Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Data science and programming skills; interest in integrating AI-driven workflows.
- Experience with project management and TPM implementation.

Education Requirements
BS or MS in an engineering field, or equivalent military experience. An AAS plus 5+ years of industry experience is also acceptable; equivalent practical experience is permitted where specified.
