Senior Package Layout Engineer - Hardware
Role Summary
Responsible for detailed substrate and PCB layout for high-speed, high-density ASIC packages and modules within the package/layout team in NVIDIA's Bengaluru hardware organization. Collaborates with technical leads and cross-functional design teams to deliver manufacturable package layouts that meet size, cost, electrical, and performance targets.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate on implementation of high-speed, high-density ASIC packages.
- Perform substrate breakout patterns for ASIC packages.
- Optimize package pinout considering system-level trade-offs.
- Perform package routing, placement, stack-up, reference plane and power distribution using Cadence APD or SiP tool suites.
- Propose layout design trade-offs to technical leadership for resolution and implementation.
- Conduct design feasibility studies to evaluate package goals for size, cost, and system performance.
- Develop symbols and CAD library databases using Cadence APD design tools.
- Develop methodologies to improve layout productivity.

- 5+ years experience in PCB layout for graphics cards, motherboards, line cards, or related technologies.
- Significant experience with Cadence APD or SiP and/or PCB layout tools, including Constraint Manager.
- Strong understanding of high-speed signal integrity practices and power distribution.
- Proven experience in substrate layout for wire-bond and flip-chip packages (preferred).
- Experience with Virtuoso and Calibre is a plus; experience with Valor is helpful.
- Experience with HDI designs is a plus.
Education Requirements
Holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Degrees in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields are referenced; equivalent experience is explicitly accepted.
