The role focuses on identifying and resolving component and process-related failures during new HBM product introductions to enable rapid production ramp and early time-to-market.

Work closely with Product, Process, Quality and Test teams to apply electrical and physical characterization, statistical analysis, and AI-assisted techniques to drive component reliability improvements.

Experience Level

Senior / Staff level. Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical and statistical failure analysis and characterization; preferred 7+ years for staff-level roles.

Responsibilities

The engineer will perform analysis and coordinate corrective actions to support product introduction and ramp.

  • Perform electrical and statistical failure analysis to identify and characterize failure mechanisms.
  • Analyze component- and test-level data to determine root causes of failures and marginalities.
  • Apply electrical and physical characterization techniques to reproduce, isolate, and diagnose issues.
  • Use AI-assisted tools and statistical software to accelerate data analysis and identification of failure patterns.
  • Coordinate cross-functional improvement activities with Product, Process, Quality, and Test Engineering teams.
  • Report findings, recommend corrective actions, and track verification through design/process/test changes to support production ramp.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred additions.

  • Must-have: 5+ years using electrical and statistical failure analysis to understand failure mechanisms.
  • 5+ years applying electrical and physical characterization techniques.
  • Proven analytical ability and proficiency with statistical data analysis tools.
  • Practical experience working with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with AI tools for component failure analysis (e.g., Claude, Copilot); experience using JMP; advanced coursework or experience in VLSI, device physics, semiconductor processes, Python, and statistics; strong communication skills in multi-functional teams.
