Senior or Staff Engineer, Advanced Modeling & AI Solutions
Role Summary
Lead design and deployment of advanced physics-based, machine learning, and LLM-powered modeling solutions that support semiconductor process, packaging, and early manufacturing decisions. Work at the intersection of physics, data, and engineering and collaborate across hardware and software teams.
Experience Level
Senior / Staff engineering level. Typically requires substantial industry experience (commonly 7+ years) or equivalent experience commensurate with a senior/staff role.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on architecting and delivering production AI and modeling systems for semiconductor workflows.
- Design and deploy physics-based, ML, and LLM-powered models for process, packaging, and manufacturing workflows.
- Architect agentic AI systems integrated with modeling tools, design automation, and fab/test platforms to support digital twins.
- Define and apply best practices for reliable production deployment of LLMs and agentic systems.
- Evaluate and improve model performance via structured benchmarking, prompt tuning, RLHF, and feedback loops.
- Translate modeling results into actionable insights and clear visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed as nice-to-have.
- Must-have: Experience developing machine learning models on large, diverse datasets and deploying ML/AI systems in production.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, including work with LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
- Practical experience deploying ML pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience evaluating and improving model quality using techniques like prompt tuning and RLHF.
- Ability to integrate AI systems with design automation, modeling tools, and manufacturing platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present data-driven insights to mixed audiences.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with MLOps, CI/CD for ML, production LLM deployment, agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen), AgentEval, code-generation tools, building knowledge bases/ontologies, and semiconductor domain experience applying AI to design, process, validation, or manufacturing workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience commensurate with a senior/staff engineering role.
