Job Title

Senior Optical Product Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Photonics Product Development Engineering team to drive yield improvements and reduce test time for photonic ASICs. Collaborate with mixed‑signal design, validation, and cross‑functional teams to validate, debug, and ramp products to production. This is a hybrid role based in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on validation, characterization, and production ramp support for photonic and mixed‑signal products.

  • Develop validation test methods for new photonic designs.
  • Characterize optical, electro‑optical, and RF performance of new chip designs.
  • Validate, debug, and characterize analog, photonic, electrical‑optical, and mixed‑signal designs.
  • Support chip validation and ramp to production through cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Provide feedback to designers on silicon performance, quality, and margins.
  • Verify electrical‑optical compliance to industry standards.
  • Train and mentor new engineers in validation practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, behaviors, and experience.

  • Deep understanding of fundamental optical components and analog circuits.
  • RF testing experience at die or module level.
  • 8+ years measuring, analyzing, and debugging complex mixed‑signal designs.
  • Experience with JMP for data analysis.
  • Ability to write scripts for validation, debugging, data analysis, and automation.
  • Detailed knowledge of optical lab equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Highly responsive to time‑sensitive critical issues; reliable and persistent.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Optical transceiver performance testing at high data rates.
  • Experience with control loops.
  • Working knowledge of wafer probe test systems and wafer handling.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting explicitly permits equivalent experience in lieu of the degree.
