Senior NPI Technical Program Manager - Operations
Role Summary
Individual contributor responsible for managing Operations NPI schedules and milestones to take silicon products from tape-out to production release within NVIDIA's Silicon Operations Group. The role coordinates cross-functional engineering, test, system, software, planning and operations teams to ensure product readiness for production.
This position focuses on execution discipline, risk mitigation, supply/sample management, and process improvement across NPI and production ramp activities.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of engineering or technical/program management experience.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate cross-functional activities required to move products through NPI into production; track schedule, risks, and metrics.
- Track and communicate key results, constraints, risks, dependencies and critical paths across ASIC, product, test, system, software engineering and planning teams.
- Manage cross-functional communications and report progress and roadblocks to upper management.
- Coordinate development and maintenance of the Plan of Record (POR), qualification plans, checklists and specifications to support production release.
- Develop engineering wafer and hardware risk plans and own internal and external sample supply.
- Lead and attend NPI meetings; identify and drive resolution of operational issues to ensure production readiness.
- Define and own metrics for NPI supply commits, production ramp, release turning points, and NPI OPEX/budgets.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and speed to market for new products.
- Develop processes and metrics for Ops planning, engineering, logistics and quality teams.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 7+ years in engineering or technical/program management roles supporting product bring-up or manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing flow and processes.
- Proficiency with program management and planning tools; ability to analyze and improve supply chain processes.
- Experience owning schedules, risks, dependencies and critical-path management for complex technical programs.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and cross-functional influencing skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous situations.
- Experience managing budgets/OPEX for NPI and coordinating internal/external sample supply.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred. PMP or other project/program management certification is a plus. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
