Job Title
Senior NPI Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor ICs from concept to end-of-life. Work within the NPI Product Engineering team to ensure products meet specifications, are manufacturable at scale, and transition smoothly to full-volume production.
Collaborate with Design, Test, Characterization, Validation, Quality, Operations and external foundries/OSATs to drive testability, characterization, yield optimization, and production transfer.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Posting specifies a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for all NPI program activities, technical leadership, and product release for assigned programs.
- Lead NPI programs from product concept through final release and transfer to full-volume manufacturing.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Design, Test, Characterization, Validation, Quality, Operations, Marketing) and report program status to stakeholders.
- Define and drive DfM/DfT requirements and ensure implementation for adequate production test coverage.
- Support development, verification and optimization of ATE test programs and cost/test-time tradeoffs.
- Plan and execute wafer-level and bench characterization across PVT; perform ATE-to-bench correlation and data analysis.
- Design and run DOE to optimize performance, yield and test strategies; identify and resolve yield limiters.
- Work with foundry/packaging teams on failure analysis, root cause, corrective actions and field return resolutions.
- Prepare NPI release documentation and OSAT manufacturing documentation for production transfer.
- Mentor junior product engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
-
Must-have: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in semiconductor product, test or design engineering.
-
Must-have: Experience with semiconductor product development, test engineering and NPI processes.
-
Must-have: Experience with quality systems including corrective actions, 8D reports, non-conformance and failure analysis processes.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in statistical analysis and DOE tools (examples: Excel, JMP, Galaxy, dataConductor) for characterization and yield modeling.
-
Must-have: Strong knowledge of high-speed serial digital interconnect components and test methodologies.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed ATE platforms (e.g. Advantest, Teradyne) or equivalent rack solutions.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with JEDEC and/or MIL quality requirements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering or a related field is specified. The posting also requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience. No additional degrees, certifications, or explicit equivalent-experience language were listed.
