Senior NPI Engineering Build Manager
Role Summary
Manage new-product-introduction (NPI) engineering builds for networking products, coordinating engineering, suppliers, PCB manufacturers and operations to deliver quick-turn prototypes and production preparations.
The role focuses on program execution, cross-functional alignment, risk identification, and continuous improvement of NPI processes in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5+ years in program, NPI, operations, or manufacturing roles (engineering/manufacturing experience preferred).
Responsibilities
Accountable for planning, executing and reporting NPI build activities and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Create and execute production plans across the product lifecycle with manufacturers.
- Coordinate with engineering, suppliers, operations, PCB manufacturing and other stakeholders to gather project details and changes.
- Track multiple concurrent projects; identify critical paths, risks, constraints and dependencies.
- Report program status in alignment meetings and escalate blockers to management.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional NPI meetings; highlight operations issues and readiness for production.
- Manage global, distributed teams to resolve complex issues and drive closure.
- Recommend and implement NPI methodology and process improvements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 5+ years experience in a similar role within engineering, manufacturing or operations.
- Proven program/project management capability in semiconductor or related hardware development.
- Ability to track multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and drive schedule adherence.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making and cross-functional influencing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and judgment for stakeholder engagement and escalation.
- Ability to analyze and improve supply-chain and manufacturing processes.
- Concise, actionable written and verbal communication.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
