Senior Networking Architect
Role Summary
Senior Networking Architect on NVIDIA Networking responsible for research and development of networking solutions for accelerated datacenters and AI infrastructure. Work spans ASIC design, firmware/real-time software, algorithms, topologies, routing, and systems engineering.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of industry or research experience in computer networks.
Responsibilities
Contribute to design, implementation and deployment of high-performance networking technologies for datacenter and AI use cases. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define and deliver solutions.
- Research and develop networking solutions across ASIC, firmware/software, algorithms, topologies, and system integration.
- Design and validate routing, switching and protocol implementations for high-performance networks.
- Work on ASIC development and real-time software running on ASICs or programmable NICs.
- Partner with engineering teams, strategic partners, standards bodies and open-source communities to advance interoperable solutions.
- Analyze and improve load balancing and congestion control behaviors in large-scale networks.
- Operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple concurrent projects.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and technical skills required; preferred skills listed separately.
- 5+ years of industry or research experience in computer networking.
- Experience developing ASICs and/or real-time software for ASICs or programmable NICs.
- Proven understanding of networking and routing protocols and their implementations.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and ability to work across multiple groups and external partners.
Nice-to-have:
- Deep knowledge of RDMA, particularly RoCE.
- Experience with network topologies, load balancing, and congestion control algorithms.
- Experience with standards organizations or open-source networking communities.
- Programming experience in Python and/or C++.
Education Requirements
B.Sc or M.Sc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; explicit mention of "equivalent experience" accepted.
