Job Title

Senior Network Modeling Architect

Role Summary

Work in NVIDIA's Network Architecture, Modeling and Performance Insights group to model and optimize networks for AI and HPC workloads using advanced simulators. Contribute code to the simulator codebase and influence system architecture and performance decisions.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 5+ years of relevant hands-on coding and systems experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and model network behavior for AI and HPC workloads and produce actionable performance insights.
  • Design and implement simulator features; write production-quality C++ and Python code and contribute to a large-scale codebase.
  • Model advanced network topologies, configurations, and realistic traffic patterns and evaluate end-to-end performance.
  • Map hardware and software features into the simulation domain to assess impact, optimize designs, and support HW/SW lifecycle.
  • Own the performance modeling roadmap for assigned features and drive projects from concept to delivery.
  • Validate modeling assumptions against real hardware/software measurements and improve simulator robustness and reliability.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 5+ years recent hands-on development experience with strong proficiency in C++ and Python, comfortable navigating and optimizing large codebases.
  • End-to-end systems perspective able to bridge hardware behavior, micro-architecture, and software performance (latency/throughput).
  • Proven project ownership: lead technical initiatives, prioritize features, and manage project lifecycles with minimal supervision.
  • Experience contributing modular, scalable code to simulation or performance-analysis tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background in networking technologies (Ethernet, NVLink, InfiniBand) and data center infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with discrete-event or architectural simulators (e.g., OMNeT++, SystemC, or proprietary simulators).

Education Requirements

BSc or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (MS/PhD) in computer architecture, algorithms, networking, or distributed systems are a plus.
