Job Title

Senior Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Sort Test Technology Development (STTD) team to develop and industrialize post-packaging test module processes for Burn In, Final Test, and System Test. The role focuses on designing test processes, characterizing equipment and materials, and driving manufacturing readiness for new device architectures.

Experience Level

Senior. This role expects an experienced engineer with multi-year hands-on experience in process development and test equipment; see Education Requirements for specific degree and years guidance.

Responsibilities

Deliver and improve test module manufacturing processes and test solutions across engineering and supply-chain partners.

  • Lead design and development of manufacturing test processes, equipment solutions, material selection, parameter optimization, and system design.
  • Characterize and optimize test processes; perform equipment metrology and statistical analysis to qualify manufacturing processes for new device architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to implement test technologies and vendor solutions.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve yield, throughput, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends in process and materials and work with vendors to evaluate and adopt improvements.

Requirements

Technical and practical skills required to perform process development, data analysis, and equipment integration.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in statistical analysis and data analytics for process characterization.
  • Must-have: Experience in process characterization, manufacturing process control, and process development.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of experimental design and statistical process control methods.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with test and measurement equipment, mechanical and electrical schematics, and process control systems.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with industrial test platforms (e.g., Advantest V93K, Teradyne UltraFlex, Cohu, Chroma, MCC).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with data tools such as SQL/Pathfinder, Python, JMP; vendor management and cross-functional project leadership.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on debugging, problem solving, and demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience; or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
