Senior ML HW Modelling Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and evaluate hardware models for next-generation Neural Processing Units (NPUs) and ML accelerators as part of the hardware modelling platform for Arm IP. Work with hardware design, verification and compiler teams to influence product design, performance and customer-facing models.
This senior role leads technical work packages, sets technical direction, and mentors junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hardware modelling, performance evaluation, cross-team collaboration, and technical leadership.
- Design and implement hardware models for NPUs and ML accelerators.
- Evaluate performance, trade-offs and new features in the modelling platform.
- Collaborate with ML hardware design and verification teams to shape product specifications.
- Work with compiler teams to optimise hardware performance for ML workloads.
- Support and maintain hardware models for customer engagements and demonstrations.
- Lead larger work packages, drive technical direction, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements

- Must-have: Strong programming skills in C, C++ and Python.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to produce innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Must-have: Proven ability to drive technical direction and mentor others in a team environment.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in hardware design and/or modelling.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with SystemC and HLS flows.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with source control (Git, Gerrit, Repo) and CI/CD practices.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with agile development and test-driven development.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with machine learning applications, ML frameworks, signal processing or control systems.
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
