Job Title
Senior Mixed Signal Validation and Debug Engineer
Role Summary
Join the IO Post-Silicon Validation & Debug team within Intel's Hard IP Development Group to validate and debug mixed-signal IPs (PLLs, PHYs, DDR, PCIe, USB, Type-C, UCIe, Ethernet) across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. The role involves direct interaction with IP design teams and SOC customers to enable silicon bring-up and resolve IP-related issues.
This is an on-site role based in Bangalore, India.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 6+ years of post-silicon validation and debug experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on IP characterization, hands-on debug, and cross-team coordination from pre-silicon to product bring-up.
- Work with SOC customers and IP design teams to perform pre-silicon and post-silicon IP characterization and verification.
- Generate test plans and test content using AI-driven tools and scripting (Python/SystemVerilog).
- Represent IP teams during SOC power-ons and provide hands-on IP enabling support for test chips and products.
- Perform signal and power integrity simulations, review SOC board designs, and recommend fixes.
- Identify, reproduce, debug and disposition silicon issues; coordinate failure analysis toward root cause.
- Operate and maintain lab instrumentation during validation and debug activities.
Requirements
Concise list of required skills and preferred additions.
-
Must-have: 6+ years of electrical or functional post-silicon validation and debug experience with serial IOs (PCIe, USB, SATA, Type-C, Ethernet) or parallel IOs (DDR, LPDDR, UCIe Die2Die).
- Proficient with lab instruments: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers and BERTs.
- Familiarity with industry IO specifications such as DDR/LPDDR, PCIe, USB/Type-C, Die2Die, Ethernet.
- Experience developing test plans and test content; scripting in Python and SystemVerilog.
- Practical experience working directly with IP design teams and SOC customers on validation and debug.
-
Nice-to-have: leadership in IP debug, deeper signal integrity and power-delivery analysis skills, pre-silicon simulation or mixed-signal validation experience, firmware or MRC exposure.
Education Requirements
Must have a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
