Job Title
Senior Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on advanced mixed-signal data converter circuits as part of a design team within the Advanced Cores Group. Deliver transistor-level and behavioral designs, collaborate with layout and evaluation engineers, and support product-level trade-offs and reviews.
Role requires hands-on circuit design, modeling, and lab work to meet project goals for high-performance converters.
Experience Level
Senior. The role expects experienced IC designers; the posting indicates approximately 2+ years of CMOS design experience as a baseline for candidates.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement key circuit blocks within a defined architecture in collaboration with other designers.
- Assess block-level trade-offs and make design decisions to meet project goals.
- Design challenging transistor-level circuits for high-speed data converters.
- Develop behavioral models for circuit blocks.
- Prepare design documentation and lead or participate in design reviews.
- Collaborate with layout engineering and evaluation teams.
- Perform hands-on laboratory work alongside evaluation engineers.
- Work effectively within a geographically distributed team.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 2+ years of CMOS IC design experience.
- Strong understanding of circuits such as wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
- Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
- Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
- Hands-on lab experience and ability to collaborate with evaluation and layout teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in large teams.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FinFET processes, high-speed ADC/DAC or SerDes design, or other advanced converter technologies.
Education Requirements
M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree or higher in EE is specified).
