Job Title

Senior Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Advanced Cores Group to design high-speed data converters and related mixed-signal circuitry for system-on-chip products. Work on transistor-level design, behavioral modeling, lab evaluation, and collaboration with layout and evaluation engineers within a geographically distributed team.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies at least 2+ years of CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with other designers to implement circuit blocks within a defined architecture.
  • Assess block-level trade-offs and make design decisions to meet project goals.
  • Design transistor-level mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, references, LDOs).
  • Develop behavioral models for designed circuit blocks (e.g., MATLAB-based models).
  • Prepare design documentation and participate in design reviews.
  • Work with layout engineering teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing and performance.
  • Perform hands-on lab work alongside evaluation engineers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of CMOS design experience.
  • Strong understanding of wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
  • Hands-on lab experience and the ability to work with evaluation engineers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in large, distributed teams.

Education Requirements

Masters degree (M.S.) or beyond in Electrical Engineering is required.
