Job Title
Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Hearables and Wearables Consumer Business Unit to design, simulate, characterize, and release high-performance, ultra-low-power mixed-signal integrated circuits for audio and edge processing. The role focuses on system-level architecture, block integration, laboratory validation, and production release.
Requires collaborative work with digital, verification, layout, and test teams; travel approximately 10%.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of CMOS IC design experience (or equivalent). Senior-level responsibility for architecture, technical decisions, and mentoring.
Responsibilities
The role's core responsibilities include:
- Lead architecture and design of complex mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release.
- Drive mixed-signal block integration and system-level tradeoffs to meet performance and power targets.
- Perform advanced schematic design, SPICE simulation, verification, and post-layout simulation.
- Plan and execute laboratory characterization, debug silicon, and resolve complex IC issues.
- Develop and optimize test strategies addressing performance, noise, timing, and power requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and influence design approaches.
- Collaborate with digital design and design verification teams for chip-level integration and validation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven mixed-signal IC design experience, including analog circuit design and system integration.
- Familiarity with ADCs, DACs, high-gain amplifiers, switched-capacitor circuits, comparators, integrators, voltage references, and LDOs.
- Experience with schematic capture, SPICE-based simulation, and laboratory characterization.
- Strong problem-solving, written/verbal communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in audio ADC/DAC design and power-management ICs.
- Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation flows.
- Experience with MATLAB or similar modeling tools and DSP concepts.
- Analog/digital behavioral modeling expertise.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of CMOS IC design experience, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
