Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Mixed Signal team responsible for architecture, design, and productization of CMOS high-speed interface and mixed-signal circuits. The role spans schematic design, simulation, layout coordination, silicon bring-up and lab characterization.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of design experience in CMOS analog / mixed-signal circuits.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and silicon validation of high-speed mixed-signal blocks and mentoring/layout coordination.

• Architect and implement high-speed interface circuits (transceivers, high-frequency PLLs, data converters).
• Perform circuit simulation, verification, and timing-related analysis.
• Lead and mentor mask/layout designers; provide floorplan and layout guidance.
• Plan and execute silicon bring-up, debugging, characterization and validation in the lab.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to move designs from implementation to productization.

• Must-have: 5+ years of CMOS analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience.
• Must-have: Proven experience with silicon bring-up, debugging and lab instrumentation.
• Must-have: Proficiency with Cadence custom design tools, circuit simulators and timing analysis tools.
• Must-have: In-depth understanding of deep submicron CMOS process and related circuit design issues.
• Must-have: Extensive design experience in data converters, Tx/Rx, CDR and PLL design for high-speed IO.
• Must-have: Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of designers.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Verilog, MATLAB, Nanotime.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with system-level timing budgets, signal integrity and power integrity.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; PhD preferred. Equivalent practical experience accepted. Relevant fields include Electrical Engineering, analog/mixed-signal design or closely related technical disciplines.
