Senior Mixed Signal Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement high-speed mixed-signal circuits (transceivers, PLLs, data converters) for NVLINK. Work on designs from specification and simulation through silicon bring-up and characterization as part of a mixed-signal design team.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical requirement: 8+ years of CMOS analog / mixed-signal circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and support of silicon characterization; technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Architect, design, simulate, and verify high-speed interface circuits (transceivers, high-frequency PLLs).
- Lead implementation through layout, floorplanning, and mask handoff; collaborate with mask designers and layout engineers.
- Plan and execute silicon bring-up, lab characterization, debugging, and instrumentation use.
- Mentor and lead junior designers; provide technical guidance during productization.
- Collaborate with system, verification, and product teams to meet timing, signal, and power requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by desirable skills.
- 8+ years of hands-on CMOS analog / mixed-signal circuit design experience.
- Extensive experience with data converters, transmitter/receiver design, CDR, and PLLs for high-speed IO.
- Strong knowledge of Cadence custom design tools, circuit simulators, and timing analysis tools.
- Proven experience with silicon bring-up, debugging, and using lab instrumentation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor design teams; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Deep understanding of deep-submicron CMOS design issues.
- Nice-to-have: system-level timing budget, signal integrity and power integrity experience; familiarity with Verilog, MATLAB, Nanotime.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; PhD preferred. Equivalent practical industry experience accepted.
