Senior Mixed Signal Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver high-speed analog/mixed-signal SerDes circuits targeting 80Gbps and above. The role owns transistor-level architecture through silicon characterization and works closely with layout, verification, and system teams to meet performance, noise, power, and stability targets.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5+ years of professional analog build experience, with substantial hands-on work in FinFET and deep-submicron CMOS processes.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecture, detailed design, verification, and silicon bring-up for high-speed mixed-signal interfaces.
- Architect and implement high-speed SerDes circuits, pushing data rates to 80Gbps and higher.
- Own the full silicon design lifecycle: concept, schematic, layout coordination, verification, and silicon characterization.
- Optimize analog circuits for noise, power, and loop stability in deep-submicron nodes.
- Collaborate with layout engineers on floorplanning and high-speed routing to preserve signal integrity.
- Lead post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and translate measurement data into design refinements.
- Support modeling and top-level verification by providing accurate analog/digital models and timing guidance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.
- 5+ years of hands-on analog build experience in FinFET and deep-submicron CMOS processes.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and strong experience with circuit simulators (Spectre, HSpice, FineSim, XA).
- Expertise in noise analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and complex loop stability analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in high-speed data-path and/or clock-path design.
- Proven ability to create models and support timing/functional verification for mixed-signal blocks.
- Strong collaboration, clear communication, and problem-solving mindset for cross-functional work.
- Nice-to-have: prior ownership of full-chip integration or mentoring junior engineers.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is specified, or equivalent practical industry experience.
