Senior Memory Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, simulate, and deliver memory and circuit macros at the gate and transistor level. Collaborate with architecture, physical implementation, characterization, and silicon teams to produce verified memory IP.

Based in Bangalore R&D; responsible for circuit design, layout integration, characterization automation, and silicon correlation/debug.

Experience Level

Senior-level (title indicates senior); typically 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, verification, and integration of memory circuits and macros.

• Analyze memory architectures and highlight trade-offs.
• Design memory or circuit blocks at gate and transistor level (SRAM, register-files, multi-port, ROM).
• Perform transistor-level simulation and analysis.
• Extract layouts and perform post-layout simulations and verification.
• Floorplan physical implementation and integrate leafcell layouts to build physical macros.
• Integrate characterization flow to extract timing and power information.
• Develop scripts to automate characterization flows, simulations, and verification.
• Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models.
• Specify silicon test plans and correlate silicon measurements to simulation; assist with silicon debug.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

• Experience in memory compiler development or custom digital circuit design (SRAMs, register-files, multi-port memories, ROM).
• Strong understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, EM/IR, and reliability analysis.
• Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical models.
• Experience with DFT schemes and chip-level integration.
• Proficient with transistor-level simulators and automation scripting; tool-savvy.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; motivated and able to multitask.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with test setups, silicon testing, and debug.
