Senior Memory Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement memory circuit blocks and physical memory macros for ASIC/SoC products. Work with transistor-level simulation, layout extraction, characterization and silicon correlation as part of the LSI India R&D team.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, physical implementation and silicon bring-up of memory circuits and macros.

• Analyze memory architectures and trade-offs.
• Design memory and custom circuit blocks at gate/transistor level (SRAM, register-files, ROM, multi-port memories).
• Run transistor-level simulations and analyze circuit behavior.
• Perform layout extraction and post-layout simulations and verification.
• Floorplan physical implementation and integrate leafcell layouts to build physical macros.
• Integrate characterization flows to extract timing and power; correlate to silicon.
• Develop scripts to automate characterization, simulation, and verification flows.
• Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models; document specifications and timing diagrams.
• Specify silicon test plans and assist with silicon debug and issue resolution.

Required technical skills and capabilities for the role.

Must-have:

• Experience with development of memory compilers or custom digital circuits (SRAMs, register-files, multi-port memories, ROMs).
• Strong understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, EM/IR and reliability analysis.
• Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical models and DFT schemes for chip-level integration.
• Proficient with transistor-level simulators and automation scripting to run characterization and verification flows.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to multitask and work independently.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with test setups, silicon testing and silicon debug.
