Role Summary
Lead layout implementation for RF, analog, and mixed-signal technology development test chips, from device test structures through tapeout and mask ordering. Translate technology requirements into manufacturable layouts and PDK collateral that meet performance, yield, reliability, and quality targets.
Support technology enablement and qualification activities by coordinating across device, process, circuit design, modeling, and CAD/PDK teams.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 10 years of relevant layout design, layout automation, and semiconductor technology development experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership and execution across test-chip development and technology enablement.
- Lead end-to-end layout implementation for technology development test chips, including device test structures, circuit test vehicles, tapeout, and mask ordering.
- Develop RF, analog, and mixed-signal layout solutions to support characterization and qualification.
- Collaborate with device, process, modeling, and CAD/PDK teams to define and validate design rules, layout methodologies, and enablement strategies.
- Create and validate test structures, layout guidelines, and PDK collateral.
- Evaluate and resolve complex layout, manufacturability, reliability, and yield challenges during development and productization.
- Drive improvements in PDK quality, design automation, and layout productivity.
- Lead small project teams and provide mentorship to junior engineers and layout designers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrable experience.
- Minimum 10 years experience in layout design, layout automation, and semiconductor technology development.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process technologies, design rules, manufacturability, reliability, and yield considerations.
- Experience with test-chip development, tapeout execution, and mask ordering processes.
- Familiarity with PDK development, design automation, and technology enablement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate across functions, and drive projects to successful completion.
